Abstract:
Long awaited by the educational agents involved (students, teachers, parents, etc) the reform of the educational curriculum process aims to answer to the current and future necessities of the Romanian society and also to participate at making the whole educational system compatible with the European and the Euro-Atlantic systems.
The mutations determined by the curricular reform represent the generating and activating elements for all the other components of the reform.
The contribution of physical education to the harmonious individual progress through practising physical exercise and several sportive disciplines may become essential if the approach to the didactic demarche is a coherent one for the whole school year.
Like the other curricular disciplines within the educational programme for the secondary level, physical education and sport should contribute through its objectives, contents and forms (specific to the organisation of the educational process) to realising the finalities attributed to this level of the mandatory education.
